It is apparent in any and every society weather civilized or barbaric that there are prejudices, which usually affects the minorities and cause afflictions within communities.
Education and enlightenment is one way to combat prejudice behavior, but what else would there be? What other option is there besides mass brainwashing? Are human beings predisposed to prejudice?
How do you curb prejudice?
Re: How do you curb prejudice?
By "combating" something, which is the same as fighting it, one is interestingly enough participating the same as and similar to prejudice/Judgment, wherein self separates the point from self and abdicate self-responsibility (and thus equality) for/with/as it. In this - what we resist will persist - because as long as we are resisting it, in for example fighting, it will remain as a problem "out there" even though it is only by standing one and equal with/as it, that we can change it.zion wrote:Education and enlightenment is one way to combat prejudice behavior, but what else would there be? So - the point is to bring all and such points back to self. Where are we participating in prejudice for example? How are we participating in prejudice by believing we can fight the world to change and how does that show us how we separate ourselves and abdicate our self-responsibility for/as the world. We cannot change it "out there" - if we do not change ourselves.
Re: How do you curb prejudice?
Human beings as the mind are predisposed to prejudice - meaning we project what we have separated ourselves from onto others, in your example onto a group of minorities, because we fear what we as the mind are not accustomed to - we fear the unknown. Thus we must acquaint ourselves with what we are allowing within us, within our thoughts, feelings, emotions, to understand, see and realize that it starts with us, as Anna has said above.zion wrote:Are human beings predisposed to prejudice?
As process has been inverted 'onto' us, we will all come to the point of realization that we cannot avoid what is Here, that it is us where it all starts. For many it'll be like a total collapse, a breaking down of all systems within and without, and then change will be sought out.
