My Injury

Post by GenevieveClaireParry »

So, I was in a roll-over car accident- and I slammed my body against the door of the car and fractured my shoulder blade in a T formation. I also have a couple bones in my arm that are misplaced. The doctor at the hospital told me I'd heal in 7-8 weeks and that my arm may never be the same. He also said to wear the sling I was given in the emergency room and exercise my arm and fingers twice daily. It's been over two weeks (it happened on the 2nd of June) and I have ditched my sling. It didn't seem like it was necessary since it would just lead to grater muscular atrophy since I wouldn't be using my arm as much. It makes sense to me that if I leave it be my muscles will be stronger to help with my bones with regaining their structural integrity. On the other hand if I did put my arm back in the sling- my bone would look more normal from the outside, yet I don't think aligning the bones before the muscle can hold the bones in place is a intelligent notion.

Also, I am strictly raw vegan- I only eat raw plant foods with condiments and pasteurized juices occasionally- and wow has that helped me recover. I recall being in the emergency room and just wanting a big banana smoothie because I know from experience that they calm you down with bananas being a sedative. This experience 'inspired' me to open up a center for injured, sick, drug-addicted, and unhealthy people wanting real care and real answers. Hospitals today are a far cry from that.

I came here mostly because I was and am scared of having an arm that doesn't work/look the same, which is the reality I don't want to face that's with me now.

I see that strength is my only real choice, is who I am.

Hey Genevieve, cool for sharing and unfortunate for what has happened, but glad that it has opened up new perspectives for you to consider becoming part of an area in our society that is absolutely lacking proper natural/alternative solutions than the ones available in our current health care system.

Absolutely agreed and I support your initiative of course, much ha to be realized that w currently lack and we are far away from considering what real healing can be if having proper support and alternative ways that don't rely on only feeding pills and forgetting about the mind relationship with the physical body as well.

So, with regards to your arm, I would first of all suggest to not create an experience about it but rather understand how it will take a process of recovery and how besides the physical aspect you can also use the time to review the situation for you to now direct yourself to the solution you have posted you'd like to be a part of in this world - but first you can begin by writing out the fears and worries you have at the moment so that you can walk the point and focus on the physical reality healing process, instead of adding an extra form of worry to it that is not necessary when all we can do in such cases is breathe and become the directive principle of our physical body to actually live, in the physical and committing ourselves to that for life.

That strength is certainly here as yourself when and as you decide to write out the fears and establish clear directives of who you are going to be from here and on in your life.

Take care and read you around

Hi Genevieve!

With regards to your injury, I would definitely suggest seeing a physiotherapist to assist with training your arm and shoulder muscles appropriately as soon as possible and to get assistance as to what is best with regards to the fractures - namely whether to use a sling or not, so as not to miss getting the arm back into an optimal functioning condition.

Cool that you're supporting yourself with food that has plenty of nutrients to assist the body here.

Thanks Ladies,
I appreciate your non-biased perspectives. You are amazing! I appreciate your words deeply.
I will write out what's going on in my mind as to let go of what is keeping me from living here with and as the physical and not lead by the mind.
Very practical support here!
Yes, I am looking for a guru *cough* Bernard *cough* to tell me the magical answers.
I don't have enough money to see a specialist.
My question is, will my arm heal correctly without the sling or is it necessary?
I have found that I get the answers I need at the right time- and sometimes the answer I want now isn't always what's in my best interests as a human being here to support all beings- and is rather ego-based. So, I'm just being brave now, following my heart- hopefully I am not making a mistake, I trust myself as life- I stop my thoughts.
I'll work on this tonight.
Thanks again,
Genevieve :)

Hi Genevieve. At the forum we don't have the necessary skills to answer this question since we aren't medically trained - so if it is possible for you to somehow get a medical professional's perspective that's definitely what I would suggest. Such a point as whether or not an arm would heal is not something I would trust to suddenly come to me as a realization - especially if I weren't myself skilled in understanding human anatomy. I mean, when we don't even know our own bodies or how they function in fact, how can we 'get the answer' somehow, from somewhere 'within'. So here you can also look at the idea of 'following my heart' and what that in fact means in terms of what it is exactly that one is trusting when one is following one's 'heart'.

I wrote a blog post about this point recently that might assist: Where Does Following Your Heart As a Compass Lead You? DAY 205

Let us know how it goes!

If the doctor said you should wear the sling for "x" amount of time then you should wear the sling for that amount of time. Otherwise you might create consequences. Like Anna said, The answer will not come to you suddenly in terms of these injuries.

Hi Genevieve,I also agree with and second what Anna mentioned above. You could in addition to applying what your doctor suggests, also do research on the healing process a human physical body goes through with your specific type of injury in order to get a better understanding of what is happening at a biological level with your body at the moment.
