[Copied from Creating a Timeline for Blogger.com by Garbrielle]

Here is some guidelines to create a timeline on the blogger website if anyone is interested, this is thanks to Leila who supported me in figuring this out...any questions or further clarity required please ask here.

This is for Blogger.com only:

1 - go to your dashboard and open the 'page' tab (there is a down arrow next to the 'view blog' button where this tab is found) of the blog you want to place the timeline for.

2- then you go to - 'New Page' - and hit blank page

3- In the title line you type in TImeline - and then in the body of the document, you want to hit 'heading' button and place the first month of when your blog starts. ex- April 2012

4- then under the month, go back to 'normal' format and here is where you will start to post your blogs.

** open a new tab and bring up your blog you are creating the timeline for, go to the earliest blog posts.

5- In the new tab you opened, go to each title ( starting from the beginning), highlight the whole title, right click, and hit 'copy'

6- go back to the tab with the new 'page' opened up, and paste it there under the month, it will come out the same as what it was on the blog, then highlight the whole title that you just pasted, and click the 'remove formatting' key it's the second to last button on the right, with a T and a red x through it.

7- you can place many of the titles before you hit the remove formatting button, but will have to go and manually place each blog post you want in the timeline. Obviously, you will need to do the same 'heading' button for each new month you go into.

Then hit publish, and it will publish the timeline, in the blog you will see the timeline tab above the blogposts. You can add more pages, such as the equal money site or desteni site, ect. so that is how you do the timeline and create pages on your blog.

For each new post you make, you will have to place it in the timeline by hitting the edit button on the timeline page, you find the timeline page by repeating step one. I usually place the titles on sundays for the previous week.

For Reference you can look at my blog timeline I have created:

Zemanta

Postby Leila » 14 Oct 2012, 00:02

Another thing one can look at within blogging is to sign-up on Zemanta and download the Zemanta Add-on.

Once you've registered and installed the Zemanta Add-on, an additional platform will be displayed on your blog posting interface, where Zemanta will suggest to you images, related articles and tags.

I mostly use the related articles functions, and the tags only if relevant suggestions are given.

What happens when you sign up with Zemanta and register your blog, is that your blog becomes part of their database of articles and information. So when other users who also use Zemanta are busy working on their blog, one of your blogs may appear in their interface as a suggestion to be placed as a 'related article' -- based on the placement of words in the blog they are writing -- and so in this way, one can increase blog exposure and traffic. For my own personal blog I get an email almost everyday of someone having referenced my blog through the use of Zemanta, so I would definitely suggest using this tool.

You don't have to place other people that you don't know their articles on your blog as 'related articles' for others to display yours. On the actual Zemanta website you can set your own preferences, and you own sources from which you prefer to draw you 'related articles'. This way, you can at the bottom of your post reference back to your own blogs and that of others doing the Journey to Life, by adding them to your own personal source database. The more people do this, the more we can connect to each others' blogs -- so that if one person reads your blog and there's relevant related blogs underneath your blog, they can easily access these and find further support on the specific point that they are dealing with / that your blogpost covers.

I have a question concerning Reddit:

Is it effective to resubmit the posts that have already been submited?

No, I would not re-submit as then people would re-rate the same blogs over and over which is a waste of time. Rather have it posted once and everyone rates up that one, which then will get more clicks.

It is definitely Not required and Not suggested - I actually left you a message in Reddit, Luka, should appear in your Private messages there a while ago. The reason being that it works on a basis of how the posts appear on the pages - thus if redditors /visitors come to the reddit and find multiple entries posted more than once, it appears more of a spam-place than an actual community. Thus, you will see and get a notice whenever the entry has already been submitted, that's where you simply have to then Vote the entry Up and it's done.

The ideal suggestion is that each one posts their own blogs, however if you want to support and submit others' blogs, just make sure it is the first submission and if not, just vote up.

The point for everyone is that as you post, you vote up the entries in the following link that contains both of our communities there:

Thanks

Thanks Leila for the DIP Lite banner. A while ago you gave me the code for the agreement course banner, but that turned out to be the Heavens JTL banner. Could you search for the code of the agreement banner whenever you've got time? Or is there someone else that has this code so I can place it on my blogger blog.

This should work:

Code: Select all
