I make it a point to reflect on who I am in a moment - what am I thinking? What am I speaking? How am I behaving? - and is who I am, who I want to be?

How do you live the statement "This is not who I am?" Cerise Poolman and Joe Kou #getreal with how to actually make that statement something you live rather than something you just think about.

When something bad happens, my first response is often fear. But with the fear comes something I experience as even worse - I imagine all the things that could possibly go wrong, all the worst case scenarios. That's not how I want to respond to difficult situations, so I have been practicing living a different response.

We all have moments of happiness in our lives - or at lease we should. As things are in the world, most of us have only those few moments in between moments of generally unpleasant experiences. Sometimes though, we get addicted to those good feelings and start chasing after them - making them our life mission - whether it's money, new relationships, shopping, hobbies, or even drugs. Here it is important to be aware of the difference between looking for energetic fixes and developing self expression.

Since taking in 2 puppies, I have been reminded of the fact that I must start at the very beginning with developing relationships with them - I cannot expect them to know what I know, or what my older dog Lifi knows. I have to stop my automated assumption that they are already at the same level that I'm at.

Sometimes I tell myself not to get help from someone because I don't want to bother them - but what does this tell me about me and my relationship with myself?

Oh bother! Sometimes we really need to ask for help or get answers to something. But... we don't want to be a bother. Cerise Poolman and Joe Kou bother to do a #Getreal video with why this bothersome problem isn't something you should bother entertaining.

Sometimes I get impatient - I feel like there is something better I could be doing with my time. When this happens, I tend to snap at and be irritable with the people around me. The thing is - I don't want to live like that, which is why I am practicing living the word patience.

Following from my video on impatience, I share how my experience of impatience is never actually about anyone but me. In the moment that I feel impatient, I want to blame other people, I want it to be their fault that I'm feeling so frustrated - but in truth it is always me.

We all have moments of weakness. Moments of failures. Moments of mistakes. Moments where we are not the best versions of ourselves. We all do it - so why do we hold these moments against each other - and more importantly - against ourselves?

Sometimes we hold on to one moment of weakness that we see in another person or in ourselves and that becomes the only thing that we see. Cerise and Joe #getreal with why this limits not only the person we judge, but also ourselves.

http://activistsjourneytolife.blogspot. ... tions.html

I have never been an emotional person. I seldom have difficulty getting out of emotional experiences. However I have seen that I react to other people when they are in emotional states. When I come across someone who is stuck in an emotional pattern, I feel physically repelled and want to get away as quickly as possible. This is not how I want to respond to someone who needs support, so I am practicing living a different way of dealing with my relationship with emotions, especially when other people are involved.
